Research Internships
Due to limited lab capacity, the Sleep & Cognition Lab can only host a small number of interns each year. Interns join a vibrant research team for a minimum of 3 months, supporting ongoing experiments in the course of learning about research in cognitive neuroscience.
To ensure a good fit with the lab, we only consider candidates who demonstrate a keen interest in scientific enquiry, who are independent, who are self-funded, and who can commit to the lab for at least 3 months. Past interns have come mainly from pre- or mid-programme medical courses, engineering, or from upper-year psychology courses.
If you are interested in applying, please send your curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests and your plans for future development to Dr. Ong Ju Lynn at julynn.ong at nus.edu.sg .
(Note: As our lab is a basic science lab, our research internship is not suitable for candidates looking for direct clinical- or counselling-related experience.)
Graduate Student Positions
We are looking for students with a good background in engineering mathematics or statistics who have an interest in developing cross disciplinary skills in cognitive neuroscience. These persons will eventually work on the analysis of functional and structural brain imaging data or human electrophysiological data.
Candidates please send your curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests and two letters of recommendation to Dr. Michael Chee at
michael.chee at nus.edu.sg .
Final Year Projects
Because of the limited number of Final Year Projects the Sleep & Cognition Lab can provide guidance on, students need to demonstrate a high level of independence as well as a keen interest in scientific enquiry, and have some background knowledge in the topic proposed.
If you are interested in applying, please send your curriculum vitae, transcript, and a statement of research interests and ideas to Prof Michael Chee at michael.chee at nus.edu.sg. Students are encouraged to browse through our website to learn more about the recent work of our laboratory before applying.
